Writing this blog post currently sick with a horrible cold, my first in years! This cold is reeking absolute havoc on my skin. My nose literally feels like sandpaper and I’m constantly finding flakes of skin in tissue as I make my way through my second box (too much?). My skin has done a complete 180 from its usual oil slick mess. Becoming super dry and congested. I’ve been on a quest to help my skin the best way I can. Here are three products that have helped me tremendously:
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask.
This mask is more like an extreme moisturizer. It smells AMAZING. I use this for my nose, chin and cheeks which are my driest areas at the moment. Just gently massage it into the skin and tissue off the excess. My nose thanks you so much, Origins
2. Ole Henriksen African Red Tea foaming cleanser.
Yes, foaming cleanser. I know I said my skin feels dehydrated and foaming cleansers can be drying to the skin if you don’t moisturize properly afterwards. The citrus extract and borage seed oil help to soften and moisturize the skin so it doesn’t feel like the desert afterwards. The citrus smells gives me an energized feeling and helps me feel more alert….well at least for an hour or two!
3. Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant
Queen Lisa Eldridge turned me onto this product years ago, and I know I’ve probably talked about it on the blog before. This is probably my favorite mask of all time! It has powerful acids, but is still gently at the same time. It’s a cream based mask—obviously, so you don’t have to be extra firm trying to remove it like some clay masks. If your skin is really congested or out of whack, you can really tingling and working to de-clog your skin.
So, there you have it. My top 3 skincare products that have really helped me out as a battle this horrible cold. My skin and I will win out in the end!
